NÚP | HIDE ARTBOOK

This is an artbook that delves into the cultural vibrancy found within the narrow alleyways of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Despite the confined pathways, hidden within them are elements reflecting the distinctive culture of the Vietnamese people – aspects that have become somewhat forgotten in the old vernacular of Saigon (the former name of Ho Chi Minh City).
Through this project, our team aims to evoke a sense of familiarity and closeness for both the people of Vietnam and the overseas Vietnamese community. Additionally, we seek to bridge the cultural gap for international audiences, offering a closer encounter with the endearing essence of this cherished land.

The assignment for our group is to create an artbook focusing on the cultural dynamics. Following rounds of brainstorming, mind mapping, and sketching, our team decided to adopt the concept of 'Hidden Alleys' for the execution of this project.

The artbook is divided into five main chapters: Streetscapes, Homes, Markets, Eateries, and Beliefs. Through these, readers will witness the richness and fascination of the Southern Vietnamese culture within the narrow alleys, exploring various objects, events, people, and professions.

CHAPTER EATERIES AND BELIEFS

CHAPTER STREETSCAPES, HOMES AND MARKETS.
